This orchid is a hybrid orchid resulting from a cross between orchids in the genera Ascocentrum and Vanda. The white with dark purple lip color on the flowers makes the flowers look unique. The plant flowers from an upright inflorescence that covered with small, perfectly shaped flowers. Ascocendas follow this same pattern: an upright inflorescence that looks like a cone of flowers. True Ascocentrum flowers are often red, white, scarlet, or deep orange depending on the species.
